Good question... For starters lets us just say that the job description for a political leader in India has changed. Those days when a party leader could show up in white kurtas just a week before the elections and expect the voters to go with his party are gone. Politics is an intense 24X7X365 profession and a thankless job too... (ask Sheela Dixit)... Would it have something to do with those national embarrassments your party gifted to the nation?... the Kalmadis, the Rajas and their ilk? Wondering where you were those days? Looks like the voters DO remember those black days under your watch!!! You then go on national TV and make a joke of yourself by not reading up on the issues that face the nation. The qualifications for the PM of India has changed, and you got the memo from the people, but you refuse read it. Now you wake up from the deep long slumber of 10 years and are still wondering why your party is losing elections? Probably a good fresh start would be to stop taking the voters for granted. And also, can your advisors speak about the real reason, i.e the emperor is naked? Did your party not suspend a couple of folks who dared to say the truth? How about the "family" stepping back and letter new set of leaders emerge? Is it too late to transform your party? I am not sure that it is in your hands any more. It really depends on BJP. If BJP does a good job of governance and keeps its right wing fringe elements in check, a revival is going to be tough bro... Wait for the mistakes of BJP, hope fully if the stars align for your party, the BJP will let loose the Yogi Advaithnath types with a saffronization agenda, and therein lies your opportunity in the realignment of minority votes. BTW apologize to the youth who have lost faith in the party. The Congress party's young supporters were nowhere to be found on sites like Netamaker, while the BJP and AAP saw an intense engagement of the youth.
